The Modern Baal: How the Ball Became the Biggest Spiritual Distraction of Our Time
Based on the deep analysis of Sh. Touqeer Ansari — QuranExplains.com
Introduction — Humanity Forgot the Creator and Worshipped a Symbol
Allah asked a question that destroys the veil of delusion:
“Do you call upon Baal and abandon the Best of creators?”
(Surah As-Saffat 37:125)
According to Sh. Touqeer Ansari (QuranExplains.com), this verse is not ancient history. It is the perfect description of the modern world.
People abandoned Allah
and became slaves of a symbol.
Baal… the ancient idol.
Today the same idol returns —
with a new spelling:
BAAL → BALL
Billions give:
• their time
• their emotion
• their identity
• their loyalty
• their pride
• their tears
• their blood
all to a ball.
This is the new global religion.
1. Psychological Worship: People Don’t Bow Physically, But They Bow Internally
People say, “We don’t worship the ball.”
But according to Quranic definition, worship is not just sajdah —
worship is priority.
What controls your attention?
What steals your time?
What decides your mood?
What you sacrifice for?
What you cannot live without?
What you defend with passion?
This becomes your “ilah” — your god.
And for billions…
their god is the ball.
They cry for teams, but not for sins.
They memorize players, not Quran.
They skip Salah but never skip a match.
As Sh. Touqeer Ansari (QuranExplains.com) says:
“Modern shirk is hidden in entertainment.”
2. Stadiums Became Temples — Players Became Idols
Look carefully:
Stadiums = new temples
Jerseys = religious uniforms
Chants = rituals
Players = idols
Teams = tribes
Match days = global festivals
Merchandise = offerings
Match time = sacred time
People sacrifice:
• money
• sleep
• health
• time
• family
• prayer
all for the ball.
The Ummah that was meant to lead the world…
is now led by a ball.
3. The Cap — A Symbol Placed on the Head
One of the strangest psychological proofs:
People wear half-a-ball on their head.
The “cap” itself is mathematically identical to half of a sphere — half of a ball — and it becomes an identity marker.
Some even reverse the cap and pray in the masjid wearing it.
Not intentionally wrong — but symbolically powerful.
The ancient Baal sat on an altar.
The modern ball sits on heads.
4. Why Humanity Loses Focus — Total Mental Capture
When people watch the ball, the world disappears.
Hours pass unnoticed.
Millions enter a hypnotic state:
• Eyes locked
• Heart racing
• Mind enslaved
• Time forgotten
• Responsibilities abandoned
• Prayer ignored
This is mental slavery.
Allah already warned us about this condition:
**“By Time,
Indeed mankind is in loss.”**
(Surah Al-Asr 103:1–2)
This is the era of that loss.
5. Why Israel Never Loved Ball Games
This is a point very few people understand.
**Israel does not build its culture around ball games.
They build their society around discipline, strategy, intelligence, and long-term power.**
They know:
• Sports addiction weakens nations
• Stadium madness destroys focus
• Emotional highs damage reasoning
• Idle entertainment creates a weak society
• Mass distraction makes people easy to control
While the world:
• Fights over teams
• Loses sleep for matches
• Gets emotional for players
• Wastes hours daily
• Destroys health with stress
• Cries for wins and losses
Israel focuses on:
• Military
• Technology
• AI
• Strategy
• Psychological warfare
• National planning
As Sh. Touqeer Ansari (QuranExplains.com) says:
“An entertainment-addicted nation cannot defeat a discipline-based nation.”
And Israel knows this very well.
6. Real-Life Tragedy — Death During a Ball Game
A powerful and true example:
In Pakistan, a cricket match was going on.
Pakistan was losing — until suddenly a last-ball six changed everything.
People screamed in excitement.
But at the same moment…
Two real brothers — My uncles — suffered heart attacks and died.
Two brothers.
Same moment.
Same excitement.
Same shock.
This shows exactly what Sh. Touqeer Ansari teaches:
**“Death can come in any moment.
So a believer must remain in activities not against the will of Allah.”**
Your uncles may be forgiven by Allah,
but their story is a warning for the whole world.
People die:
• in stadiums
• at home watching matches
• from excitement
• from shock
• from emotional overload
The ball steals more than time —
It can steal your last moment.
7. Ball Games Bring Dajjalic Environments
Look at any major sporting event:
• Alcohol
• Music
• Zina environment
• Free mixing
• Gambling
• Aggression
• Violence
• Tribal hatred
• Half-naked celebrations
• Obsession
• Addiction
This is the perfect breeding ground for fitnah.
Dajjal does not need to force you to sin.
He only needs to keep you busy.
Busy with entertainment.
Busy with emotions.
Busy wasting life.
Busy forgetting Allah.
And the ball is his most powerful tool.
8. The Combination of Two Surahs Explains the Modern Age
Surah As-Saffat 37:125
→ Warning against Baal worship.
Surah Al-Asr 103:1–2
→ Warning that humanity is wasting time.
Together, they describe our world perfectly:
**Billions worship a symbol
while their time drains away.**
The ancient idol was a statue.
The modern idol is a ball.
Different shape.
Same deception.
9. A Final Wake-Up Call Before Death Arrives
If death comes while:
• drunk in a stadium
• screaming at a screen
• gambling on a match
• surrounded by haram
• wasting time
• ignoring Salah
how will we answer Allah?
Sports are not haram.
But when sports replace Allah…
they become your Baal.
Where you spend your:
• time
• heart
• loyalty
that becomes your god.
And time is running out.
Conclusion — Surah Al-Asr Is Happening Right Now
Allah says:
**“By Time —
Indeed mankind is in loss.”**
Loss of guidance
Loss of purpose
Loss of identity
Loss of discipline
Loss of iman
Loss of life
A believer must ask:
**Is my time going to Allah…
or to the ball?**
You cannot take:
• trophies
• matches
• stadiums
• teams
• players
into your grave.
But you WILL take:
• your actions
• your intentions
• your priorities
• your connection with Allah
This world is temporary.
Death is sudden.
Time is your only wealth.
And the ball is the biggest thief of that time.
One Law, One Order — Ball as the Only Command
This is the most powerful proof of how ball worship unites people more than any religion.
Look carefully:
People of every religion,
every nation,
every language,
every culture,
every belief system
when the match starts — all differences disappear.
No priest is needed.
No imam is needed.
No temple, church, or mosque is needed.
One screen. One ball. One focus.
For hours:
No religion remembered
No prayer time noticed
No family duty felt
No responsibility matters
No morality discussed
The only law is the match.
The only command is the ball.
The only obedience is full focus.
Football, basketball, cricket —
name changes, ball remains the same.
Eyes follow it.
Mind follows it.
Heart follows it.
Emotions follow it.
This is worship without a priest.
This is religion without scripture.
This is obedience without God.
Sh. Touqeer Ansari — QuranExplains.com explains:
“When millions obey one object at the same time,
ignoring prayer, duty, and conscience —
that object has become their god.”
This is why:
One referee’s whistle silences millions
One goal creates mass ecstasy
One loss causes depression and violence
One win controls emotions for days
No religion on earth has this level of instant obedience.
That is why this is modern Baal worship.
Not stone.
Not idols.
Not temples.
Pure mind control.
Time tells the truth.
Where your time goes —
that is your religion.
